Blog sharing my experiences of grief, in honour of my Mum. Let’s share to normalise grief!
Feeling Sueless by Rosie Szumowski
Hello! My name is Rosie. I’m 26 years old, I live in London with my partner, Sam, and our cat, Ian.
I will never say no to a cocktail, I love cooking, reading, cosmetics, music, and socialising. My Mum, Sue, died in 2018 after an 18 month stretch of cancer. After struggling to process and express my grief, I read books, went to therapy, listened to podcasts, and followed social media accounts which address grief and loss (specifically young and bereaved), I decided to start a blog in January 2020 as an outlet to explore and process my feelings within my grief journey, to write about my experiences and hopefully help somebody else.
I have worked with children for the past 9 years and I hold an honours degree in Early Childhood Education. I think when I’m a grown up, I’d like to go into grief counselling or support for children and young people.
I hope that you can find some solace in my posts, I think it’s really important to validate experiences and emotions around bereavement. I post something on the blog every week (ish). I feel genuinely touched when people respond to my posts or relate to what I’ve written and will always want to talk about grief, so feel free to email me or drop me a message on instagram if you’d like to.
